R.Rocky Collector

PRIVACY & DATA USE

Privacy policy.

This policy describes the privately operated Rocky Collector desktop utility. It is not an account-based public service. Last reviewed: 28 October 2026.

Who operates the utility

Rocky Collector is operated privately by the owner of the Google account that authorises it. To ask about the utility or its data practices, use the support contact displayed on the Google OAuth consent screen.

Google account access

The utility requests Google Drive drive.readonly. This permission can technically read files and associated information across the authorised Google Drive account. The collector’s intended, configured activity is narrower: it lists a designated handover folder and reads message files for local continuity handling.

The utility does not request Google Drive write access. It cannot modify, delete or move Google Drive files using this permission.

Why data is used

Google Drive data is accessed solely to retrieve operator-selected continuity messages and to help the local program detect duplicate deliveries and record a local processing state. It is not used for advertising, profiling unrelated users, or selling information. The collector is currently tested with synthetic messages; general unattended collection has not been enabled.

Storage, sharing and security

Collection and duplicate-tracking are performed on the operator’s computer. This informational website does not connect to Google Drive, accept document uploads, or transmit the retrieved document content to its web host. The collector does not intentionally share Google user data with advertisers or data brokers.

Local records remain under the operator’s control and may be removed by the operator. OAuth credentials should be stored only in the local application’s approved authentication storage, not on this website. Like other web hosts, the provider hosting these pages may process routine request information such as IP address and browser details to deliver and secure the site.

Retention and deletion

Local message records, identifiers and diagnostic logs may remain on the operator’s computer until the operator deletes them. Disconnecting Google access stops future authorised Google Drive reads, but does not automatically erase existing local records. The operator can review or delete those local records and can revoke the application's Google permissions in their Google Account security settings.

Changes

This policy will be updated if the utility’s permissions, data uses, storage or sharing practices materially change. Its public wording should be checked against the implementation before any real-message processing is enabled.
